Higher moisture means that hay is better suited to pose a fire risk. Use those bales first, but in the meantime keep them stored away from cattle, and monitor the moisture and the temperature of the hay. If the temp reaches about 150 degrees, a fire is likely approaching.

You should also check the moisture and temperature in any bales you create also. But you’ll have the benefit of knowing the conditions under which you used the machinery to make your stock.
